Surprisingly simple and effective

"As someone who has never used a fountain pen, I didn't have much expectations going into using this, but I found this to be quite easy to use. I intended to use this for both writing and drawing (probably not the intended use case), and it seems to do quite well at both. Compared to MUJI's ballpoint pens, writing is a little rougher; you have to press harder to get ink to come out and the lines will invariably be much thicker, feels like 0. 7mm. The provided ink is not as dark as their ballpoint pens but is perfectly readable. The body of the pen has a rougher matte finish, as opposed to the smoother finish of their (apparently discontinued) refillable aluminum ballpoint pen. I still think it's a good, minimalist look for a pen and will hopefully last a long time. Apparently you can refill the ink cartridges with a blunt, dispensing syringe, which makes a pen like this a long term tool if you write or draw a lot."

Great everyday pen

"Have lots of fountain pens, some expensive, some mid or low price and write with fountain pens every day. It was a bit of test to try out this pen and had both lowered expectations (the price point eg) but also high expectations as a MUJI product. It’s a great pen, especially at this price and writes well. It’s a tiny bit scratchier than some but generally writes pretty smoothly and performs well. I’d recommend it as a good every day pen that is also stuff and holds up even when tossed in a bag"

Takes some getting used to

"I love how fluid and smooth this pen is but it did take some getting used to. It’s also not quite as fine as the gel pens which is what I was hoping for with this pen. I still find I’m using it for longer writing sessions because it’s so smooth to write with though."
