Garment Merchandising Specialist
MUJI CANADA LIMITED is actively seeking a Garment Merchandising Specialist to join our MUJI Toronto Corporate Office location. Purpose
The Garment Merchandising Associate supports the execution of merchandising strategies for garment categories across MUJI North America. This role contributes to inventory allocation, sales performance monitoring, and the coordination of seasonal product launches to ensure strong product availability and consistent merchandising execution across all business channels. The position collaborates cross-functionally with teams including Stores, E-commerce, Logistics, VMD, etc to support operational efficiency and drive overall product performance across the retail network.
Role and Responsibilities
Merchandising and Inventory Management
- Support the execution of merchandising strategies for garment categories across MUJI North America business channels
- Manage inventory allocation and distribution to maintain appropriate stock levels and support sales performance
- Monitor store and channel inventory targets, identifying opportunities to optimize product availability
- Support markdown planning and execution to manage inventory flow and maximize sell-through
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams regarding inbound shipments and inventory distribution
Sales Performance and Analysis
- Monitor weekly and monthly sales performance across garment categories and business channels
- Conduct sales and inventory analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Provide insights and recommendations to support merchandising decisions and performance improvement
- Track product performance and support actions to address underperforming items or inventory imbalance
Seasonal Planning and Product Launch Execution
- Support seasonal assortment planning and ordering processes for Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter seasons
- Assist in the preparation and execution of seasonal product launches across stores and digital channels
- Support face control map planning and merchandising guidelines to ensure consistent product presentation
- Coordinate communication of seasonal merchandising updates and priorities to store teams
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Stores, E-commerce, VMD, Planning, and Logistics teams to support merchandising execution
- Communicate inventory updates, merchandising priorities, and operational needs across departments
- Support the alignment of merchandising plans with operational capabilities and store requirements
Promotions and Operational Support
- Support price promotion planning and system registration to ensure accurate execution across channels
- Assist in coordinating promotional activities to support business objectives and product sell-through
- Identify operational issues impacting merchandising execution and support resolution in partnership with relevant teams
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent professional experience in retail, merchandising, or a related field
- Experience in merchandising, retail operations, or inventory management preferred
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
- Ability to analyze data and support informed merchandising decisions

- Occasional travel internationally may be required

Starting Rate: $42,000-$52,000 CAD annually

Work Schedule: Full time associates are expected to have a 5-day availability per week.
