This simple, lovely papier-mâché snake doll comes from Hikoji Mingei. It is a producer of zodiac folk dolls called "Miharu Koma" and one of the workshops in Takashiba Deco Yashiki, a local Miharu toy manufacturing village that has existed since the Edo period. Since ancient times, white snakes have been said to be messengers of the gods that bring prosperity and fortune.
