Fukukan/Fortune Can

Fukukan/Fortune Can

Our Fukukan, Japanese for "Fortune Can", wishes good luck and prosperity to those who receive them. The 2026 theme is the year of the horse. Give them as holiday gifts to your loved ones to wish them the best in the new year!

Our collection of Fukukan toys and dolls is hand crafted locally in regions throughout Japan. Many of them are historically significant and have different meanings behind why they were created. Each of them has unique touches, so none are exactly alike!

The Fukukan began as a tin can filled with 14 types of lucky charms from Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima, and was sold during the New Year period in 2012, with the desire to support the Tohoku region as it recovered from the earthquake. Since then, the company has continued to support Tohoku, gradually expanding the range of regions it sells, and introducing a wide range of Japanese lucky charms to bring the fun of locally rooted folk toys to more customers. Get yours before it's gone!
