Japanese Cypress, or Hinoki wood is used in many applications in Japan including kitchen tools and building materials. It was used to build shrines and temples including Osaka Castle, which has stood strong for over 1300 years. It has a unique fragrance, it's highly moisture and humidity resistant and the phyoncide found in Hinoki has a strong antibacterial effect which inhibits mold or bacteria growth.

- Before use, sprinkle water on the product to prevent it from absorbing odours.
- Wash thoroughly with water before storing.
- After use, wipe off moisture and dry Since it is made of natural wood, it may warp or crack.
- Please avoid soaking for long periods, using a dishwasher, and disinfecting with direct sunlight or bleach as this may cause damage.
- After long-term use, gaps may occasionally form at the joins of the boards.
- Tar (oil component of tree sap) may seep out, but this is not a problem in use.
- The surface can be wiped off with alcohol, wet cloth, etc.
